Math Learner: Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Math Learner is a maths game for children aged 5 to 11. We designed it to collect as little information as possible. This policy explains what the app does and does not do.

No accounts, no personal information

The app has no sign-up or login. We do not ask for or collect a child's or parent's name, email address, phone number, photos, contacts or location. The first name a child types when creating a player profile stays on the device and is never sent to us.

Progress stays on the device

Game progress (levels, stars, coins, pets, badges, settings and learning statistics) is stored only on the device. Deleting the app deletes this data. Grown-ups can also remove a player profile in the Grown-ups area.

Moving to a new phone (transfer codes)

A grown-up can move progress to a new phone with a one-time transfer code. The progress is locked (encrypted) on the old phone with a key made from the code before it is sent, so our server stores only scrambled data it cannot read. It is deleted as soon as the new phone collects it, or after 24 hours if it is never collected. The code itself is never sent to us. Memberships are not moved this way; use Restore purchases on the new phone.

Online duels

In a Duel, a child races another player online. Our server gives each player a made-up nickname (such as "Blue Fox"), passes on only whether each answer was right, and keeps nothing once the race ends. There is no chat, and no names, photos or other personal information are shared. If no one is free, the child races Robo, a computer player, without going online.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase records from the store, not personal information.

Advertising (free version only)

Players without a subscription may see ads from Google AdMob between rounds, never during a question. Every ad request is marked as directed to children (COPPA) and to users under the age of consent (GDPR), limited to content rated G, and non-personalised. The app does not use the advertising identifier for tracking and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt. AdMob may process limited technical data (such as device type and approximate region derived from the IP address) to deliver and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising policies. Subscribers see no ads.

Notifications

A grown-up can turn on a daily reminder in the Grown-ups area. Reminders are scheduled on the device; no push notification service is used.

Parental gate

For players under 12, purchases, settings, video ads for ages 5 to 6, and links that leave the app are behind a parental gate. Players who choose the 12+ age can buy a membership without it; Apple's and Google's own payment screens still ask to confirm, and Ask to Buy and Family Link still ask a parent on a child's account. Pets and coins are never sold for real money.

Children's privacy

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and the GDPR. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
